Public Policy & ELSI Research

Core projects focused on Public Policy and Ethical, Legal and Social Issues related to the field of stem cell research are large multidisciplinary initiatives (minimum of 4-5 investigators) that pursue integrated goal-directed programs to address major research outcomes. Projects are funded for 3.5 years (from October 1, 2011 to March 31, 2015) with a total envelope of up to $350,000 per team. These projects are actively managed and have high requirements for engagement of external partners. They form the basis of the Network's Public Policy strategic research program.

Selection of Core Public Policy projects is based on the recommendations of an external international review panel which evaluates proposals against the following six criteria: relevance to SCN's Public Policy strategic program and research excellence, engagement of partners, training component, project management plan, knowledge exchange strategy and networking.

Application deadline for this program is January 13, 2011. However, investigators must request an application form by December 3, 2010. For full details download the Public Policy & ELSI Research program and application guidelines.
